About the Event

• This is our 2nd Annual Tamil Poster Exhibition event at Austin

• Open to everyone interested in learning about Tamil culture and heritage (ability to understand/ read Tamil is preferred but not a must)

• Attendees (Audience) walk around the Poster Booth to get presented on a variety of topics

• There is no need for participants to be enrolled in West Austin Tamil Academy or any specific Tamil School to participate in this event

Team/ Track

• Team can be of 1 Student/ 2 Students/ 1 Student + 1 Adult

• Separate tracks for Juniors (6 to 10 years) and Seniors (11 to 18 years)

Exhibition/ Presentation

• Illustrate the Topic of Interest in Tri-Fold Posters (36x48 Inch)

• Present the Topic of Interest to Audience (6-8 minutes per presentation)

• Team may get to present the topic multiple times to small groups of Audience (including the Judges) in the given 90 minutes 

Topics

• Participants are free to pick topics that portray Tamil Culture and Heritage positively

• Examples: 

  • Tamil Monuments (e.g. Tanjore Temple, Mahabalipuram)

  • Tamil Festivals (Pongal, Karthigai)

  • Tamil Literature and Philosophy (Thirukkural, Thiruvasagam, Sivapuranam, Avvaiyaar padalgal, Bharatiar padalgal, Sanga Ilakkiyangal)

  • Tamil Art Forms (Silambam) 

  • Tamil Stories/ Story-telling

Poster-Board: 

• 36x48 Tri-Fold Poster (from any vendor) (white/ color ones)

• Make sure the board is ~1/2 inch thick and self-standing, please
